This bumpin organic electro 7" is an edited short instrumental/vocoder version from the really rare 12" without vocals and with a top notch synth performance! Sounds like 81' or 82' but age don't matter when the record is timeless. Enjoy!
Is this maybe the sickest boogie album ever to be produced? I think so. So many incredible tunes right here, it's just impossible to not enjoy it. Listen to all those nigerian dancefloor anthems and i bet you will agree!
Dedicated to all the Dj's of the world - thank you Dizzy K.

If you want to learn more about the main man behind lots of nigerian funk records, check this interview with Odion Irujoe:
Years AGO we had the idea to start a 80s funk party in our "barrio" to share our dedication of Boogie Funk with our friends and the whole city. After a three-year run of incredible party moments we've reached a point at which a dream of ours come true. One of our essential prime time LPs will be played live on stage: "AGO - FOR YOU"!!!!!
Therefore, a big thanks Ago, Ivan Marquez and the whole Funk Freaks fam for the connection & the same passion and love for the FUNK.
About this LP is not much to be said...every song is a winner and has this classic Das Zündet Bounce to get freaky on the floor. Here is a little selection so you can enjoy the next party even more:
For You
Trying Over
Stop Your Life
You Make Me Do (It)
The last time the man was in Germany was in the late 80s. So fly by for a cultural experience to see the living legend of italo-funk & 80s dance music live in full effect.
If you are wondering, which extremely good looking funkster is on our latest Das Zündet flyer, its the legendary goodthingman SUMY. Hailing from Surinam, the funky 'G' produced his nowadays sought after killer album 'Tryin To Survive' 1983 in Amsterdam. Funky, funny and obscure - this discoboogie masterpiece is hard to beat, so check some killer tunes here:
Chicago's own Terry Gengis brought us two really fresh singles during the early eighties which are both tuff to get nowadays. And thats for a good reason. Listen to 'Shape That Body' and you'll hear a dope boogie-roller with a slappy bassline, instrumental parts etc...lowrider stuff. But what makes this record a real jewl is the flipside with the incredible 'Gonna Be There', (co-)written by Jesus Wayne, who also produced Terry's other single 'Ooh Sha Sha' and more great songs like the 'Chicago Party Theme'. Perfect-Boogie right here imo, but convince yourself:
We found this one some weeks ago in a 2€ box and turned out to be a great find. Finest early electro-rap right here from the legendary Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde who apart from their own releases were involved in more great records like Lonnie Love, Harlem World Crew or Captain Rock. Check out those nice pitched down 'yellow panties' vocals you wouldn't expect in '85.
This one is among our favourite Amiga releases. A stunning GDR record containing funk-rock-jazz-bossa nova and schlager elements. Listen to the superfunky 'Rotes Licht', the smooth brasil-flavoured 'Die Allee' and the drama-funk hit 'Da ist ein Feuer'.
We had the chance to see the legendary Marcos Valle live in concert and we really enjoyed it. Apart from his big legacy of Jazz, Bossa and Fusion records he also released some essential brazilian 80's funk stuff.
Here we come with another sureshot we love to play out live - the awesome Electric Beat Crew from former east-berlin. In 1989 they managed to release the only english-speakin rap record made in the GDR. Check their hit single 'Here We Come' aswell as 'Money'. For more informaton about this obscure release and the band's history check their website http://www.electric-beat-crew.de/index.htm
This 'damned infectious' synth-bomb out of Liverpool used to be one of my rarest records until I sold it last week...I already regret it. Unfortunately you can't find much information about the group and it seems that this was their only release.
'Wise Up!' is a seriously banging track, especially the 7 minutes lasting mix on side B, including fat synth-performances and a sick-ass bassline. Maybe you could argue about the vocals on both songs but I absolutely dig this. Check out some exclusive stuff right here.
Ok, this one's a real pearl! Mac Machine was an 80's band out of Kassel, Germany consisting apparently of germans and americans. Their first album 'Mutherfunken' was released in 1986 as a private pressing on PPS records and got some surprisingly dope boogie, rap and modern soul tunes on it. The record is a little hard to get but i recently saw on popsikes that in 2006 it went for 900 USD on ebay - things were crazy on the bay at that time. Check some digitalized songs here:
Here we go with another boogie bomb from 1983, the year that brought us tons, tons and more tons of great 80's funk music. Leon Jackson's dancin lamb is givin a party with all his well known friends so you better join the ball! A fresh song with two dope versions and some fantastic artwork.
Flakodiablo - Lo-Fi-Beats "Un Collage Impresionista" (Santiago de Chile, 2015)
When I moved to Chile I arrived without any idea where to stay nor I had any contacts. Soon after my arrival my friend Klaus Layer told me that there was this guy from Santiago who had given him some Props on Facebook so I decided to contact him. Some days later we met and went together on a trip to Valparaiso to visit his cousin and this guy turned out to be not just a fucking kool guy and one of my very first friends over there but also to be a really talented beatmaker and producer: Flakodiablo!
We started to hang around quiete a lot, he introduced me to his friends and we tried to make some music together. At the end we only managed to finish one song but we spend a great time. Our track "Pintura Respirando" together with Mona and Fakiu of his group OneShok is featured as the only track with vocals on his new instrumental-Lp "Lo-Fi Beats".
During my stay Flako was working all the time for his next release, which now finally is available at bandcamp. The whole record comes around with lots of boom-bapish vibrations and psychedelic energy, just as we like it! Check out this piece of nostalgic golden-era sound aswell as his other releases - la wea weena. Chile esta en la casa po!
Better don't sleep on this upcoming star on the skyy: Brian Ellis is making mad noise and taking Modern Funk to the next plateau:
Check out his collectible 7" on Voltaire Records including the smashing Love is with the one & only Egyptian Lover and the neckbreaking boogie roller Electric Body on side b featuring K-Maxx....
...aswell as his heavyweightfunkin debut EP Reflections!
Looking at the cover artwork you probably wouldn't expect a Killer-Boogie-Double-Sider but this superscarce 7" comes around with such heavy basslines, mean synth'n'guitar action and fresh vocals that you just have to pump it as loud as possible! Enjoy the vinyl-rip!
here comes another HOT 80s Rap jam from Time Square. Released from their Mini-LP which is pretty rare. Definitely a uncommon early rap song with some bootygrappin synths and a funky disco twist.
This cosmic RIAS-release, conducted by the man himself Helmuth Brandenburg, delivers some fine spaced out moments as well as some serious funkyness. We chose two uptempo Groovers to share but this rare library-joint also comes up with laid back electronical sample-stuff. You'll find one of these themes on our upcoming Krautsalat-Mix...which will be totally of the chain!!
